Nitin Mantri

Taking risks is a quality that innovators must have and that is second nature for Nitin. In 2006, Nitin left a successful job as Director of Brodeur Worldwide (a part of Omnicon and now Ketchum) and returned to India after seven years in London to join a start-up called Avian Media, which had two employees and three clients. In less than 12 years, Nitin has conceptualised and laid the foundation of the company, and made it the fastest-growing independent agency in the world (No. 8 Globally and No. 3 in Asia). Avian currently has six offices across the country, 155 employees and over 80 clients.
Nitin Mantri is also the President of the Public Relations Consultants Association of India (PRCAI), the apex body of communications and public relations consultancies in India, for two terms. Nitin has been recently appointed Vice-President of The International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO). He is the first Indian to hold this prestigious position. He continues to be the President of the ICCO Regional Board. Nitin is also the first Indian to receive the honour of Global PR Leader at the ICCO Global Awards in 2015.

Nitin takes a keen interest in the development of the public relations industry in India. For several years he has led the charge on the importance of ethics and a common code of conduct for the industry. Since he became the PRCAI President in 2015, he has focussed on improving the public perception of the industry. He regularly speaks at communication events in India and abroad.

To increase awareness about the profession at the grass-root level and stimulate the learning process, Nitin regularly delivers lectures at prominent mass communication colleges in the country including Symbiosis (SIMC), India Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) and Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC). In addition, he is a mentor with the Promise Foundation, an organisation that guides PR professionals.

Nitin stays fit by swimming and playing badminton. His passion for cricket is what completes his reputation of being a thorough gentleman.
